'Rentaghost' Back From the Dead, Ben Stiller Set to Star

Looks like Ben Stiller has been cast as a dead man. According to Variety, Fox has just acquired the rights to 'Rentaghost,' a popular British comedy show from the late '70s, with Stiller attached as the lead. (Warner Bros. originally had rights to the series, with Russell Brand set to star.) The actor will reunite with writers Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, the team behind the popular 'Night at the Museum' franchise. 'Rentaghost,' which ran from 1976-84, tells the story of the recently deceased Fred Mumford, who starts a firm to help rent ghosts out for different tasks. Stiller can be seen next in Brett Ratner's Wall Street revenge flick, 'Tower Heist,' on Nov. 4. [via Variety] [Photo: FilmMagic] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook RELATED
